Deterministic End-to-End Delay Guarantees in a Heterogeneous Route Interference Environment

چکیده
Some of the known results for delivering deterministic bounds on endto-end queuing delay in networks with constant packet sizes and constant link rates rely on the concept of Route Interference. Namely, it is required to know the number of ows joining on any output link in the whole network. In this paper we extend the existing results for the more generic cases of connection-oriented networks consisting of links with di erent capacities, carrying di erent tra c classes and packets of di erent sizes.

Minimum Delay Routing in Multihop Wireless Networks
End-to-end delay is an important QoS metric in multihop wireless networks such as sensor networks and mesh networks. Along with throughput, end-to-end delay determines the user-experienced data transmission time. End-to-end delay refers to the total time it takes for a single packet to reach the destination. It is a result of many factors including the length of the route and the interference l...
متن کاملA Beaconless Minimum Interference Based Routing Protocol to Minimize End-to-End Delay per Packet for Mobile Ad hoc Networks
The authors propose a beaconless, on-demand, mobile ad hoc network routing protocol called minimum interference based routing protocol (MIF) that minimizes the end-to-end delay per data packet. During route discovery, each node inserts its identification and location information before broadcasting the Route-Request (RREQ) message in its neighborhood. The weight of a link, called the interferen...
متن کاملA Reliable Routing Algorithm for Delay Sensitive Data in Body Area Networks
Wireless body Area networks (WBANs) include a number of sensor nodes placed inside or on the human body to improve patient health and quality of life. Ensuring the transfer and receipt of data in sensitive data is a very important issue. Routing algorithms should support a variety of service quality such as reliability and delay in sending and receiving data. Loss of information or excessive da...
متن کاملEfficient Network Resource Allocation With QoS Guarantees
Organizations that need wide-area network connectivity between their remote branch locations are increasingly demanding quality of service (QoS) guarantees from their Internet Service Providers (ISPs). On the other hand, the main objective of ISPs is to maximize the usage efficiency of their network resources in order to derive more revenue. This dissertation proposal addresses the following pr...
متن کاملEnd-to-End Delay Guarantees for Multiple-Channel Schedulers
Consider a network in which adjacent nodes exchange messages via multiple communication channels. Multiple channels between adjacent nodes are desirable due to their cost effectiveness and improved fault-tolerance. We consider the problem of providing deterministic quality of service guarantees in this network. We show that any scheduling protocol designed for a single channel can be converted ...
